1. What is not collected
UP-IN (“the site”) has no sign-up. No name, email, phone number, date of birth or address is collected — nothing that identifies a person. There is no login, so no account data exists.
2. Stored in your browser
Progress and which items you've already played may be kept in your browser's localStorage. That stays on your device, is never sent to the server, and disappears when you clear site data.
3. Stored on the server
Results are stored in a form that cannot be traced to a person: which item was chosen, a region code inferred from browser language, and a timestamp. No identifier is attached, so an individual's history cannot be reconstructed. The records are used only for aggregate statistics such as “what percentage picked what.”
4. Region data
Region is inferred from the Accept-Language header your browser sends. No geolocation and no IP-based location lookup is used, so it is not an accurate country.
5. Access logs
The web server automatically records access logs (IP address, time, requested path, browser type) for operation and troubleshooting. They are not used for any other purpose and are deleted after their retention period.
6. Visitor counting
To count daily visitors, your IP address and browser information are hashed together with a value that is only valid for that day, producing an unreadable string. The original IP is never stored, and because the value changes daily, the same person appears as a different visitor tomorrow. Tracking across days is not possible.
7. Cookies
The site currently uses no advertising or analytics cookies. Visitor counting works without cookies. If advertising or an external analytics tool is introduced later, this document will be updated first, naming each cookie and its purpose.
8. Third parties
Since no personal data is collected, none is shared or sold.
9. Your rights
You can clear browser-stored data yourself. Server-side records contain no identifier, so correcting or deleting one individual's entries is technically impossible.
