The High Priestess usually appears when the shortage is not information but timing. Someone has not said everything. Or you have not. Or you are performing certainty about something you genuinely do not know yet. Push here and you are tearing the veil, and what you pull out that way is usually wrong.
When this card speaks of intuition it does not mean mood. It means the thing you cannot argue for but cannot drop — the aftertaste on the walk out of the meeting. That is not an absence of information. It is information that has not found words yet, and she is telling you not to discard it for that reason.
Reversed, you have overruled it. Everyone else said it was fine, the numbers worked, the decision was already made. This is the kind of thing you later describe as having known all along. Writing down, in one line, what is actually nagging you is usually enough to change the outcome.
Reading the High Priestess as 'a secret' is too narrow. It is less that something is hidden than that something has not been put into words yet. It often marks the state of already knowing while being unable to produce the evidence, so the mouth stays shut. The card is not telling you to investigate — it is telling you to admit what you already know.
Paired with the Sun it tilts toward something surfacing soon. Overlapping with the Moon it says the opposite — there is a while to go. The High Priestess is a card about timing, so you check whether its neighbour winds the clock forward or back.
