Surviving alone doesn't feel like enough. You count the days, note what you saw, give names to things that had none. Diligent — but the diligence goes into records rather than supplies.

Practically it costs you. Others spent that hour gathering food while you protected paper. Yet it helps more than it should over a long stretch: someone counting the days gets through the days.
