In detail

PCG

It's all decided before departure. What to see at what time and where to eat exists as a table, and the table actually gets followed. Whoever comes along has an easy trip — there is nothing to decide.

The appeal of cities is density. When everything worth seeing is within walking distance, far more fits into a day. Nature feels like too much travel time for what it returns.

The weakness is having no slack. You'll walk past something unexpectedly good in order to keep to the schedule, and trips tend to compress in memory into “we saw a lot.”
