The Great Pyramid at Giza went up around 2500 BC — further from the Roman Colosseum in time than the Colosseum is from us. The Sphinx was carved from a single mass of bedrock. And none of it is deep in the desert: it sits within driving distance of central Cairo, with the city visible from the plateau.

Adventure reads at the top of the pack. You choose intensity over comfort — and Cairo is genuinely not a comfortable city. Picking it anyway says ease isn't first on your list when you travel.

Nature sits near the middle, which is telling in a country with that much desert: you aren't going for the landscape. Aesthetic reads above the middle, but it isn't about pretty cafés — it's the flattening feeling of standing in front of something several thousand years old. This is a trip to verify a scale that photographs keep failing to carry.

You travel well here with someone who converts discomfort into a story. Heat, crowds and noise arrive together in Cairo, and if your condition collapses the day goes with it — you want the companion who laughs that off. In a bracket Cairo is all-or-nothing. The pyramids are an overwhelming single card, so the punch is real, but the city itself reads as anything but comfortable. It rarely reaches a final, and it reliably beats certain opponents outright.

The nearest square is Marrakech, then Rio — all three accept a high level of stimulation. The furthest is Paris, which puts this at the opposite end from a taste that puts comfort and beauty first.
