It might be you or someone near you. The person who writes a careful shopping list and still never forgets a friend's birthday, the senior who keeps the team budget tight but buys dinner for the junior working late, the flatmate whose place is always in order however busy they are. A feel for money and a habit of caring live in the same person.
Reversed, that balance slips. One way is looking after everyone and everything until your own share disappears — money spent freely on family while your own shoes are years old. The other is thrift tipping into stinginess, the point where people start calling you calculating.
