A man in red stands on a castle rampart with a small globe in his right hand and a wand in his left. A second wand is fixed to the wall beside him, and beyond it the sea and the coast stretch away. The castle is already his, yet he is looking out, not in. The Two of Wands is about planning the next move from ground you already hold.

It tends to appear once the first step is done and the second has to be chosen. The side project has some traction and you wonder whether to grow it. You are settled at work and an offer from elsewhere has caught your eye. Nothing has moved yet. You are standing over the map, weighing directions, and that time is not wasted.

Reversed, it reads two ways. Either the moment to choose has come and you keep putting it off — turning the globe and never leaving the battlements. Or your view has narrowed: you only look at the familiar option, so the field seems smaller than it really is. Wait long enough and circumstances choose for you.

The useful question is why you are hesitating. Is it a lack of information, or is where you stand simply comfortable? If it is the first, go and find out. If it is the second, no amount of research will get you off the wall.

The castle makes it easy to read this as 'you have made it'. But the weight of the image sits in where the man is looking. The card is not about contentment; it is about noticing that what you have is no longer enough.

Followed by the Three of Wands, the plan has turned into action. Beside the Hanged Man, the decision has been paused on purpose, and the advice is to look once more before rushing.
